The commerce department is one of the largest departments in the institution. The present intake has 400 plus students. The department offers specialization in Accounting and Taxation and Banking and Insurance as per the guidelines issued by Bangalore North University. By adapting Choice Based Credit System the department is driven by quality, with well qualified and committed faculty members to equip the students with practical and analytical skills.

The Common Wealth of Commerce Club of the department engages the students in various academic , non academic, curricular and co-curricular activities like seminars, group discussions, debates, role play, participation in intra and inter collegiate , university level sports and cultural activities , extension activities and has always been a cynosure in their performances. Various workshops, guest lectures, educational visits, skilled based activities, and promotion of research culture is engaged. Entrepreneurship awareness development programs are arranged to strengthen the practical exposure of students. Many students are recruited through the campus placements and are placed in reputed organizations like, Cognizant, Accenture, HDFC, ICICI etc.

The department has also brought laurels to the institution in the way of university ranks and 100% results in subjects like Cost Accounting, Corporate Accounting, Mathematics, and Statistics. We encourage the students in their own decision making at personal and professional levels through capability enhancement programs. These programmes instill the sense of social responsibility and promote environmental consciousness amongst the student community.
