Workshop on GST

The PG Department of commerce, Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain First Grade College KGF organized intercollegiate GST Workshop on 30th August 2024, coordinated by Mr. Harish G assistant professor Department of commerce.

Attendance: Total students attended:  200

– PG students from other institutions like Dr TTIT, GFGC KGF, Christ College Malur, and GFGC Vemgal were participated.

Workshop Overview:

One-Day International Conference

The Post Graduate Department of Commerce at Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain First Grade College, KGF successfully hosted a one-day international conference on August 20th, 2024, under the theme “Pathway to Prosperity: Financial Measures for Inclusive Growth and a $5 Trillion Economy by 2025.” The conference aimed to explore strategies and financial frameworks essential for not only economic expansion but also ensuring inclusive and equitable growth.

The event was presided over by Dr. Chenraj Roychand, Chairman, along with Managing Trustee Sri Mahendra Kumar Munoth, Dr. Rekha Sethi, Principal of SBMJFGC KGF, delivered the presidential address, emphasizing the pivotal role of the younger generation in achieving the $5 trillion economy benchmark, aligning with global standards.

The keynote address was delivered by Dr. S. Senthil Kumar, Professor and Head of the Department of Management at Skyline University, Nigeria. He highlighted the significance of emerging sectors in propelling India towards becoming a developed nation by 2030.

Dr. J. Anthony Gruze Thangaraj, the seminar convener, delivered the welcome address, emphasizing the need for public awareness about the various schemes introduced under the ‘Make in India’ initiative, crucial for fostering inclusive growth.

The conference saw active participation from co-convenors, faculty members, and researchers both within and outside the college, who presented papers in both online and offline formats. Notable contributions were made by scholars and professors from Mount Kenya University, Skyline University, and Liverpool John Moores University, England.

NATIONAL WEBINAR ON AN INTRODUCTION TO INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY ACT-IPR

A National level webinar on Introduction to Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) was conducted on 13th of April 2022, the main objectives of the programme is to provide plethoric view of the IPR and its related issues. Pro Ganesan Associate Professor and Head Post Graduate Department of Economics and Centre for Research, Ayya Nadar Janaki Ammal College Sivakasai- was called as a resource person. Participant’s form the different states of India have participated in the webinar.

Two Days National Workshop on “Statistical Analysis and Interpretation

The Post Graduate Department of Commerce organized a two days National workshop on “Statistical Analysis and Interpretation using SPSS for Business research Analysis” on 2nd and 3rd of June 2022,Faculties, students and Research scholars form the different parts of the state participated. The Workshop started with Inaugural session at 9:30 Am On 2nd June 2022, the session was presided over by Dr.Rekhasethi, Principal SBMJC, KGF, Dr.T.Tirupathi Assistant professor Govt Arts College Salem, and Dr.J.AnthonyGruzeThangarja Coordinator PG Department SBMJC KGF, and delivered inaugural address.

The workshop session one started at 10:00Am, on the 2nd of June 2022. Where the basic theoretical components required for the social Science Research were discussed, the technical session tow started at 2:00Am where, statistical toll like, Independent t-Test was discussed with technical and scientific interpretation.

The next day (3rd June 2022), the third technical workshop started at 10:00Am, where Statistical tools like one sample t-Test, ANOVA, and Paired t-Test used for analysis were discussed with technical and scientific interpretation.

The fourth workshop session started at 2:00Pm, where factor analysis with multiple regression and correlation   was discussed with technical and scientific interpretation. The workshop was concluded at 3:30 Pm, with valedictory and certificated distribution, the various participants have registered their experience and benefits of the workshop.

Resource Person: Mr. S. Selvanathan, Head and Asst. Professor Dept. of Commerce VHNSN College, Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu.

The webinar was conducted for PG students exclusively to give an input about the emerging topic GST. This topic will be very useful to the student fraternity. Students actively participated and e- certificates were generated for the same.
