Industrial Visit – BOROTECK SCIENTIFICS

The Department of Life Science has organized Industrial visit on 31st May 2022. 30 students and 4 faculty members visited “BOROTECK SCIENTIFICS” at Nerallekere, Bangarpet. The students gained knowledge on manufacturing glassware and its importance in Laboratory.

Awareness Program on Cancer and its treatment using Stem Cell Therapy

The department of Life Science in association with DKMS and BMS Bengaluru organized an awareness program on Stem Cell Therapy for Blood Cancer on 22nd May 2022 at SBMJFGC KGF.  Cheek Swab sample was collected from the public volunteers and students for HLA compatibility for further stem cell donation. 80 public volunteers, 04 faculty members and 25 students of SBMJFGC KGF actively participated.  

National Webinar on An Overview on Research Strategies

The department of Science in association with Research Cell , SBMJFGC KGF organized National Webinar on “ An Overview on Research Strategies “ to strengthen the Research activities on the present scenario on 2oth May 2022.

100 participants from different streams of neighboring states actively participated and interacted with the resource persons. Both the sessions focused on the preparation of research report, interpretation of results,scopes of research and multidisciplinary projects.

World Health Day 2022

Theme: ‘Our Planet, Our Health’

The Department of Life Science observed world health day on 7th April 2022. The students and faculty members conducted health checkup for the neighborhood community, teaching, non teaching staff, housekeeping members and parents. Pamphlets were distributed in the KGF bus stand and students educated the passengers, fruit sellers and other shop keepers. The students actively involved in checking blood pressure, Oxygen saturation level and blood grouping.  25 students and 5 faculty members were participated.

NATIONAL WEBINAR ON “ROLE OF IP AND ITS SIGNIFICANCE”

The Department of Science in association with Visvesvarya Trade Promotion Centre Govt of Karnataka organized sponsored National webinar on “ROLE OF IP AND ITS SIGNIFICANCE” which is the IQAC initiative webinar held on 6th April 2022. The Webinar started with the formal inauguration. Dr.Rekha Sethi, Principal, SBMJFGC, KGF proposed the inaugural address .The sessionswere streamedin You tube and in Google meet . 312 participance registration and e certificate were provided for the participances. 

Sessions 1 The key note speaker was Dr. Farah Deeba Senior IP Consultant, CMR University, Bengaluru.She addressed about Biodiversity heritage sites and grand’s to local biodiversity, patenting life, biodiversities IPRs and various Acts related to IPRs.

Sessions 2 The speaker for this session was Smt. Prabhavathi Rao, Facilitator, IP Initiatives & GI Cell, VTPC, Dept. of Industries & Commerce, and Govt.  Of Karnataka, Bengaluru.The speaker mainly concentrated on GI as a powerful IP tool impacting grass roots and Government initiatives to promote Geographical Indications.

The technical sessions wereclosed  with queries  and vote of thanks.
