Online Certification Courses

National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) is a project of MHRD initiated by seven Indian Institutes of Technology (Bombay, Delhi, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Guwahati and Roorkee) along with the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in 2003, to provide quality education to anyone interested in learning from the IITs. The main goal was to create web and video courses in all major branches of engineering and physical sciences at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels and management courses at the postgraduate level.

Courses provided through online portal, 4-, 8-, or 12-week online courses, typically on topics relevant to students in all years of higher education along with basic core courses in sciences and humanities with exposure to relevant tools and technologies, are being offered. The enrolment to and learning from these courses involves no cost. An in-person, proctored certification exam (optional) will be conducted at Rs. 1000/- per course and a certificate is provided through the participating institutions and industry, when applicable.

  • Total number of students enrolled courses for July to December 2023: 220 students from B.com, BBA, BCA and BSC.
  • B.com students enrolled for  Business Sustainable Development, Decision making under uncertainty    
  • BCA students enrolled for  python for Data Science, Software testing
  • BBA students enrolled for  Organizational Behavior
  • BSC students enrolled for  Dairy And Food Process And Products Technology

Total number of students appeared for exam and received certificate is 02.

Majority students unable to take up exam due to their university exam.

Enhancing Learning Experience for First-Year Degree Students

Objective:

The primary objective of this orientation program was to introduce first-year degree students to the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL), an initiative of the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The program aimed to familiarize students with NPTEL’s online courses, resources, and benefits, enhancing their learning experience.

Conclusion: The orientation program successfully introduced first-year degree students to NPTEL’s benefits and resources. Participants demonstrated enthusiasm for leveraging NPTEL to enhance their learning experience. We recommend regular workshops and integration of NPTEL courses into the curriculum. “The video lecture on ‘Gender Justice and Workplace Security’ was screened to introduce the course and its key concepts.

A brief write up of the programme:

           The Library and Information Centre of Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain First Grade College K.G.F, organized a Book Week from 04/09/2024 to 13/09/2024. The programme was inaugurated with the auspicious hands of our beloved principal Dr. Rekha Sethi. The main motive of the programme is to promote the use of books as well as the Library among the students, faculty members and Administrative staff of the college.

By conducting this Book Week we provide information like what kind of books are available in the Library. We have displayed the Reference Books of  BCA, BBA, B.Com, BSc-PMCs and BSc-BGB, Languages, Dictionaries, Journals, Magazines, Newspapers, Cd’s, Commerce books, M.Com dissertation,
SC/ST Book Bank, Rare Books, Competitive exam books, Common Entrance Test (CET) Books, Bound Back Volumes.

Books create a good moral human being as well as create transformation in human life about the future. This awareness is created by the department of Library and Information Centre. The Book Week was successful by the contribution of all students, faculty members and administrative staff of Library. The feedback form is collected from students and faculty members are maintained and suggestions are accepted.
