About program: ORIENTATION PROGRAM

The objective of the orientation program was to welcome and introduce newly admitted degree students to the college community, familiarize them with the academic environment, and provide essential information to ensure a smooth transition.

Program Details:

For 2 days invited parents along with students

17.09.2024 and 18.09.2024

17.09.2024 –B.com and BBA

18.09.2024-Bsc (PMCs and BGB) and BCA

Inaugural Session:

– Orientation by Dr.Rekha Sethi

– Introduction to college history, mission, and vision

– Overview of academic programs and policies

Technical Sessions:

– Academic regulations and procedures

– Course structure and syllabus

– Faculty introductions and departmental overview

– Library and resource center orientation

– Student support services (counselling, career guidance)

Resource Persons:

– Principal Dr.Rekha Sethi

– Office Superintendent Mr.Babu

-Training and Placement Officer Mr.Jayapandian .L

Participants:

– 354 newly admitted degree students

– 50 faculty members

– 10 student volunteers

Outcome:

The orientation program achieved its objectives, as evident from:

– Positive feedback from participants (95% satisfaction rate)

– Increased student engagement and interaction

– Clarification of academic doubts and concerns

– Establishment of connections between students, faculty, and staff

Recommendations:

– Conduct regular follow-up sessions to ensure students’ adjustment

– Provide additional support for students with special needs

– Review and refine the orientation program for future cohorts

Conclusion:

The orientation program successfully introduced degree students to the college community, providing essential information and fostering a sense of belonging. We look forward to witnessing the students’ growth and success.

RETRO DAY

Date: 28th .5.2024

The student’s Dress up in Retro fashion and Channel their self in to 60s, 70s, or 80s style and put together a Retro outfit for the day. All around 800 students participated actively from all the streams.

FUN WEEK

The cultural forum organised FUN WEEK 2024 starting from 27th May 2024 to 31st May 2024 the FUN WEEK represented each day with different themes and interesting activities in the college for the students.

28/5/2024 –Retro Day along with Dance Competition

29/5/2024 –Black And White Day along with Treasure hunt

30/5/2024 –Hollywood and Bollywood Day along with Fashion Walk

The entire degree student from all the streams participate activity and had a photo session every day based on the theme for the FUN WEEK-2024.

Date : 27/5/2024

The students had dressed up them self as Halloween and had faced painting representing the theme. All around 750 the students participated actively from all the streams

FOOD FEST

Food fest a cultural event organized in Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain College KGF by cultural forum on 22.5.2024 on getting traditional food from different states of India representing the nutrition food encouraging the students to have healthy eating habits

Food festivals offer excellent opportunities for food education. Through cooking demonstrations, workshops, and informative displays, attendees can learn about the nutritional value of different foods, sustainable agriculture practices, and the importance of making conscious food. It strengthens the local cultural heritage and brings awareness among the students related to the various food

There were around 28 teams participant who participated in food fest each team consist of 5 members over all 140 students participated.

DEBATE COMPETITION

Date: 9.5.2024

Venue: Open Auditorium

Cultural forum organised Debate competition for the students to gain the knowledge of debating and be able to express they views an also it makes them understand what makes a good debate .student were judged on the following criteria:

1. Communication skills 2. Valid point 3. Body language

The students were given the TOPIC: *Social Media use in today generation is good or bad. *Voting awareness necessary to the society to understand the essential of the citizenship .

Over all 45 students participated.
