On the 1st of April, 2017 Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain First Grade College showcased a significant event – the release of the annual college magazine – Golden Threshold 2016. The chief guest for the day was Mr. Subramani,  popularly called Pallavi Mani. Ms. Jean Saldanha, HOD of English introduced the chief guest, Mr. Subramani who is the retired principal of the Government Junior Girls’ College, K. G. F. He owns the Pallavi television channel in Kolar.

The magazine was released by the chief guest, Mr. Subramani along with our managing trustee, Mr. Mahendra Kumar and our dynamic principal, Dr. Rekha Sethi. In his address, the chief guest spoke about the brand image of Jain College, K. G. F. which has earned name and fame. He admired the discipline maintained by the students and wished the institution great success.

The managing trustee, Mr. Mahendra Kumar recollected the release of the first annual college magazine by our founder and chairman, Dr. Chenraj Roychand Jain and congratulated the editorial committee for their efforts. The Principal, Dr. Rekha Sethi said that the magazine is the true reflection of the ingenuity, contribution and versatility of our faculty members and students. She pointed out that the magazine covers all the curricular as well as the extra-curricular activities that this temple of learning has carried out.

The chief editor, Ms. Jean Saldanha placed on record her heartfelt thanks to the chairman, Dr. Chenraj Roychand, the managing trustee, Mr. Mahendra Kumar and the Principal, Dr. Rekha Sethi. She offered her profound thanks to Dr. Shabbeer Basha, HOD, Hindi, Dr. B. K. Manjula, HOD, Kannada and Mr. Navendran, system administrator for their co-operation and co-ordination. She also thanked the teaching, non-teaching staff and the students for their inputs in the magazine.

Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain First Grade College witnessed a grand valedictory function on the 1st of April 2017. Throughout the academic year, the college has been abuzz with curricular and extra-curricular activities. This has been a colourful kaleidoscope of myriad activities that unleash the hidden potential in our students for their holistic personality development. The Department of Hindi conducted a National Seminar for students on the influence of media. Medals were distributed to all the SBMJC students who participated. Next we had the distribution of prizes for the students who took part in the seminar organized by the Govt. First Grade College, K. G. F. This was followed by the distribution of prizes for the students who won various competitions at the mega event- Shrusthi organized by the First Grade College, Oorgaum, K. G. F. The Student Welfare Association conducted a Youth Fest with several events. The first, second and third prize winners were felicitated with certificates and mementos.

Each and every department conducted various activities during the odd and even semesters as per the calendar of events. The distribution of prizes was held for these events. The first, second and third prize winners were rewarded for their achievements. The prizes were distributed by the Principal and the faculty members. The prize distribution was interspersed by cultural entertainment in the form of lively group dances and interesting games which made the valedictory function a truly memorable experience for one and all present.
