The Department of English organized a guest lecture for the 2nd year degree students on Friday, 30th June 2017. The resource person was Dr. Audrey Pinto, Ph. D. in Psychology, Professor & HOD, M. Sc. Counselling, School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangalore.
She spoke on the topic, “Pathways to Maturity”. The auditorium was packed with 200 students and faculty members. Dr. Audrey Pinto gave a scintillating talk dealing with the seven pathways to a mature personality. The talk was informative and motivating with interesting anecdotes and examples. It was highly appreciated by the student community as seen from their lively interaction and positive feedback.

The Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain College, KGF conducted “International Day against Drug Abuse” in association with Robertsonpet Police Department on 28th June 2017.
Dr. Rekha sethi, Principal of SBMJC, KGF welcomed the guest of honor for the event and the gathering. On the occasion she spoke that these days the present generation are easily getting addicted to drugs because of stress and pressure and inability to bear changes.
The chief Guest for the event superintendent of police said that there are a lot of common things around us that are drugs but people don’t give importance to them and don’t understand the adverse effect of using such things. He said that the present generations are directly getting abused by the drug , even children’s as young as 10-11 years of age due to extensive usage of telephone and television, whereas the older generations were not exposed to such kind of scenario. He told that as a coin has 2 sides, the same way technology has advantage as well as disadvantage.
The PSI of Robertsonpet, Mr. Harish gave a extensive presentation to students about the different varieties of drugs and their impact of the body. He even told how unknowingly humans are getting into human trafficking.
Mr. Murali Kumar, Ms. Sujatha Aarasu, Mr. Prakash and Ms. Sandhya were also present.
