Day -1, Essay writing competition by WEC

Topic: “The effect of social media on women’s lives”.        Time: 1:30 Pm to 3:30 pm.                                    Venue: Auditorium

 It was conducted by WEC for all streams. Over 35 students from various streams participated.    

Objects: To understand the impact of social media on women’s mental health and self-esteem. To explore the role of social media in promoting women’s empowerment and social change. To discuss the challenges and opportunities of social media for women.

Outcome: Increased awareness about the effects of social media on women’s lives. Encouraged critical thinking and writing skills among students. Provided a platform for students to express their thoughts and opinions on the topic.

    

Day -2″Photography Competition”

Date: 4th-Nov-2025 Topic: “Women at Work” Time:30 Pm to 3:30 Pm. Venue: Auditorium

It was conducted by WEC exclusively for girl’s students of all the streams. Over 8 students participated.

Objective: 1. Capturing photography about Women at work place 2. To discuss the challenge faced by the Woman at work place.

Outcome: 1. It increase the awareness and the challenges faced by the Woman at work place. 2. Provided the platform for students to express their thoughts and opinions on the topic”

Day 3 Business Plan competition on November 5, 2025.

Topic: innovative business idea for a better tomorrow

at Auditorium. The event saw participation from 8 talented students from BBA and BCom courses. The competition aimed to foster entrepreneurial spirit and innovation among students, providing a platform to showcase their business acumen and creativity. The judges for the event were Mr. Prakash from Managment Department, Mrs sandhya from Department of commerce. The faculty Coordinators are Mrs. Sujatha.M wec coordinator and Mrs. Jacilin from Department of PUC.

The objectives of the competition were:

  • To encourage students to think creatively and develop innovative business ideas
  • To provide a platform for students to showcase their entrepreneurial skills
  • To promote critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

The outcomes of the competition included:

  • Identification of potential business ideas with market viability
  • Development of comprehensive business plans with financial projections
  • Enhancement of presentation and communication skills among participants

The event was a resounding success, with participants demonstrating impressive business acumen and creativity.”

“Day 4 Quiz Competition, held on November 5, 2025, at the Smart Room, witnessed a thrilling Quiz Competition focused on Women Achievers.

Over 35 students participated in the event, showcasing their knowledge and skills.

Objectives:

  • To create awareness about women’s contributions to various fields
  • To encourage students to learn about women achievers
  • To promote healthy competition and teamwork

Outcomes:

  • Participants gained knowledge about women achievers and their contributions
  • Enhanced teamwork and problem-solving skills
  • Promoted critical thinking and healthy competition among students”

Day-5 “CHROME ART” Competition

Date: 07-11-2025

  • Event Name: CHROME ART
  • Tagline: “Where creativity reflects the strength of women.”
  • Topic: Celebrating Womanhood
  • Rules:

    • Participants must bring their own Rangoli powder

  • Participants will create art using Rangoli powder in teams, celebrating womanhood
  • The event aims to highlight the strength of women through creative expressions

Day-6 competation Paper Presentation organized by WEC at Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain First Grade College:

Event Details:
Topic – Challenges faced by women at the workplace
Date – 10-11-25 (November 10, 2025) Time – 1:30 pm Venue – Auditorium

Rules:

  • Each team can have 1-2 members.
  • The paper should be original and unpublished.
  • The paper should be within 1500-2000 words.
  • Presentation should be 6-7 minutes, followed by a 5-minute Q&A session.

Quote : “A society that educates its women debates its future — and wins it.”
Rules :
Each team has 2-4 members.
Debate focuses on women empowerment, social innovation, or current issues.
Each team gets: Opening Statement (2 mins), Argument Round (3 mins), Rebuttal Round (2 mins), Conclusion (1 min).
Total time per team is 8 mins + 2 mins Q&A.

Objectives:
1.Encourage discussion on women empowerment: The topic “Women Empowerment: Is Education a Key?” promotes critical thinking and discussion on a relevant issue. 2. Develop debating skills: Participants can enhance their argumentation, presentation, and rebuttal skills. 3. Focus on women empowerment and social innovation: The debate focuses on issues shaping better future for women.

Outcomes for girls: 1. Enhanced understanding of women empowerment: Girls participating can gain insights into the role of education in women empowerment. 2. Improved confidence and presentation skills: Through debates, girls can build confidence in expressing their views and presenting arguments.
3.Opportunity for engagement and learning*: The event provides a platform for girls to engage with peers, discuss important topics, and learn from each other.

Dental Check-up Camp

The Department of Life Science organized a Dental Check-up Camp  at  Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain First Grade College,KGF in association with 32 smiles Dental Clinic,KGF  on 30th October 2025 with the objective of promoting oral health awareness and providing free dental consultation to students , staff and Public. The camp aimed to educate participants about the importance of maintaining proper oral hygiene and to identify common dental problems at an early stage.

The camp began with a brief inaugural session presided over by the Principal, Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain First Grade College, KGF who emphasized the significance of oral health as a part of overall well-being.

A team of Dr.Vatsala and Dr.Lydia from   32 smiles Dental Clinic, KGF delivered the lecture on regular dental examination, importance of Oral hygiene counselling, correct brushing techniques and gum infections. Special attention was given to educating students, faculty members and public about preventive measures, balanced diets, and the ill effects of tobacco and sugary foods on dental health. The team also done basic screening of oral hygiene for students, staff members and public   .

A total of 50 students, 20 staff members and 10 public participated in the camp and gained knowledge on Oral care and its importance.

Guest Lecture on ‘Tollugatti’ (Drama)

The Department of Kannada organised Guest Lecture on ‘Tollugatti’ (Drama) on 16th October, 2025.

The guest lecture inspired the students on the Modern Education System and T.P.Kailasam drama in the text prescribed by Bangalore North University for First Semester B.Com Students as per SEP.

The students gain knowledge on Moral, Ethical Values and a desire for an egalitarian society. 45 students and 03 faculty members participated in the Guest Lecture.

GUEST LECTURE on Shoodra Tapasvi and Jalagara

The Department of Kannada organised Guest Lecture on ‘Shoodra Tapasvi (Drama) on 26th September, 2025 and ‘Jalagara’ (Drama) on 27th September, 2025.

The guest lecture is based on the National Poet Kuvempu dramas in the text prescribed by Bangalore North University for First Semester BCA and B.Sc Students as per SEP.

The guest lecture is organized throw online mode and students gain knowledge on commitment to social justice and a desire for an egalitarian society. It’s inspired the students to approach Kuvempu Dramas for new avenues of learning.

55 students and 03 faculty members participated in the Guest lecture.

Introduction

The Student Welfare Council (SWC) Installation was conducted on the 6th of October, 2025, in the conference hall. The event, organized by Mr. Praveen N ,SWC Officer and Mr. Changareddy SWC, Coordinator marked the formal installation of newly elected SWC members and office bearers (BOD’S), continuing the legacy of student leadership and welfare initiatives with a total of 55 students participated.

Event Proceedings

The event commenced with Ms. Hajira and Ms. Irfa as the Masters of Ceremony, followed by a warm Welcome Address by Ms. Harshitha. A symbolic act of watering a plant was performed by the guests to signify growth and sustainability, followed by a march by all SWC members, demonstrating unity and commitment. Dr.L Jayapandian IQAC Coordinator delivered an inspiring speech on student leadership, followed by speech from Dr. B K Manjula Head, Department of Kannada. The newly elected members were then formally badged, followed by the oath-taking ceremony led by the IQAC Coordinator, instilling a sense of duty among the inductees. Ms. Aatiya delivered the Vote of Thanks, acknowledging the contributions of all attendees and organizers.

Conclusion              

The SWC Installation Ceremony was a well-organized and meaningful event that highlighted the significance of student leadership, responsibility, and teamwork. It served as an inspiration for the newly elected members to uphold the values and duties of SWC, ensuring continued student welfare and engagement in institutional activities. The enthusiastic participation and positive atmosphere made the event a memorable and impactful experience for everyone involved.
