The objective of the orientation program was to welcome and introduce newly admitted degree students to the college community, familiarize them with the academic environment, and provide essential information to ensure a smooth transition.

Program Details:

For 2 days invited parents along with students

17.09.2024 and 18.09.2024

17.09.2024 –B.com and BBA

18.09.2024-Bsc (PMCs and BGB) and BCA

Inaugural Session:

– Orientation by Dr.Rekha Sethi

– Introduction to college history, mission, and vision

– Overview of academic programs and policies

Technical Sessions:

– Academic regulations and procedures

– Course structure and syllabus

– Faculty introductions and departmental overview

– Library and resource center orientation

– Student support services (counselling, career guidance)

Resource Persons:

– Principal Dr.Rekha Sethi

– Office Superintendent Mr.Babu

-Training and Placement Officer Mr.Jayapandian .L

Participants:

– 354 newly admitted degree students

– 50 faculty members

– 10 student volunteers

Outcome:

The orientation program achieved its objectives, as evident from:

– Positive feedback from participants (95% satisfaction rate)

– Increased student engagement and interaction

– Clarification of academic doubts and concerns

– Establishment of connections between students, faculty, and staff

Recommendations:

– Conduct regular follow-up sessions to ensure students’ adjustment

– Provide additional support for students with special needs

– Review and refine the orientation program for future cohorts

Conclusion:

The orientation program successfully introduced degree students to the college community, providing essential information and fostering a sense of belonging. We look forward to witnessing the students’ growth and success.

Library Book Week-2024

A brief write up of the programme:

           The Library and Information Centre of Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain First Grade College K.G.F, organized a Book Week from 04/09/2024 to 13/09/2024. The programme was inaugurated with the auspicious hands of our beloved principal Dr. Rekha Sethi. The main motive of the programme is to promote the use of books as well as the Library among the students, faculty members and Administrative staff of the college.

By conducting this Book Week we provide information like what kind of books are available in the Library. We have displayed the Reference Books of  BCA, BBA, B.Com, BSc-PMCs and BSc-BGB, Languages, Dictionaries, Journals, Magazines, Newspapers, Cd’s, Commerce books, M.Com dissertation,
SC/ST Book Bank, Rare Books, Competitive exam books, Common Entrance Test (CET) Books, Bound Back Volumes.

Books create a good moral human being as well as create transformation in human life about the future. This awareness is created by the department of Library and Information Centre. The Book Week was successful by the contribution of all students, faculty members and administrative staff of Library. The feedback form is collected from students and faculty members are maintained and suggestions are accepted.

Free Dental Check-up Camp

The Department of Life Science in association with KGF College of Dental Science organized Free Dental check-up camp for staff and students to improve oral hygiene on 22nd October 2024 from 11:00 am to 3:30 pm in the auditorium.

250 students and 25 faculty members utilized the facilities.

World Mental Health Day 2024

Counseling Centre Observed that “World Mental Health Day on 10th October 2024″ awareness program organized for all first year degree students on 10th October 2024 at 10.00 am to 01.05pm in the Auditorium.

Prof. Dr. J. Mariadoss Psychologist delivered On Mental Health, Dr. Rekha Sethi Principal, SBMJC, KGF Dr. L. Jayapandian IQAC Co-Ordinator SBMJC, KGF Office Superintendent Babu SBMJCE, KGF and Faculty Members were present.

Meaning of Mental Health:-

Mental health is a Multidimensional concept that refers to a human individuals emotional and psychological well-being. It is the ability to respond to the many varies experiences of life with flexibility. It is the science that deals with human welfare and all fields of human relationship. It is the ability to make whole personal and social adjustment. It is a state of emotional, psychological and social wellbeing that affects how we think, feel and act.

Objectives of Mental Health:-

  1. To provide mental health care facility to every individual of specified population and specifically to those who are in need of it.
  2. To ensure the availability and accessibility of minimum mental healthcare for all in the foreseeable future.
  3. To encourage the application of mental health knowledge in general health care and in social development.
  4. To advance community participation in the mental health service development.
  5. To enhance human resources in mental health subspecialties.

Outcomes of Mental Health:-

  1.  Gain awareness and understanding of the definition of mental disorder contained within the MHA
  2. Understand the criteria for detention and appropriate treatment as defined in the MHA
  3. Be able to apply the Guiding  Principles in relation to appropriate treatment
  4. Understand how the age appropriate admission criteria will work
