About Rotaract

About Rotaract Rotaract is a service club for young men and women ages 18 to 30 who are dedicated to community and international service. Its membership totals over 184,000 in more than 8,000 clubs worldwide. Rotaract clubs are self-governing and self-supporting and can be either university- or community-based. Individual Rotary clubs sponsor Rotaract clubs and offer guidance and support, making the Rotaract clubs true “partners in service” and key members of the family of Rotary.

 Goals of Rotaract

  1. To develop professional and leadership skills
  2. To emphasis respect for the rights of the others, and to promote ethical standards and the dignity of all useful  occupations
  3. To provide opportunities for young people to address the needs and concerns of the community and our world
  4. To provide opportunities for working in cooperation with sponsoring Rotary clubs
  5. To motivate young people for eventual membership in Rotary.

After the initial organizing phase, it is up to you, the new Rotaractors, to complete the process. Here are three easy steps to help you launch your club:

Membership

The membership of this club shall consist of young men and women of good character and leadership potential between the ages of 18 and 30.

Activities conducted by the club:

  1. Polio drive campaign
  2. Free Health Camp on the occasion of International Health Day
  3. Rotaractors attended 2 workshops at PES University Bangalore
  4. Outreach program on the occasion of World Illiteracy Day

  1. Rotary club KGF and Rotaract club of SBMJC KGF to organize Marathon
  2. To participate in the rally on the occasion of World AIDS Day
  3. To organize the 2nd Free Health Camp at our campus

Rotaract Club 2016-17

  • Inauguration of Rotaract Club

The Rotaract Club of SBMJC- KGF started with the encouragement and support of Rotary Club Kgf. The Inauguration was in the presence of Mr.Natarajan (President of Rotary Club) and Mr. Annandaramaiah (Senior Advocate and Secretary of Rotary Club) and Mr. MahendarMunoth (Managing Trustee SBMJC- Kgf) Mr. Naveen Kumar (Convenor and Mentor of SBMJC, Bangalore) and the Principal Dr. RekhaSethi on 9th February 2016 in the auditorium. 38 student Rotaractors and 2 teacher co- coordinators  got enrolled.

  • Polio drive on 21 February 2016

The Rotaract club conducted polio drive to create awareness among the general public and its prevention was conducted throughout India. The polio drive started at the Maternity hospital Kgf in the presence of the President and the Secretary of Rotaract Club Kgf. Then proceeded to the Kgf Bus stop and had interaction with the general public and polio drops was administered to small children. The camp was extended to rural areas as well. The students were encouraged by Mr. MahendarMunoth, Dr. Manjunath and Dr. RekhaSethi for their good work.

  • Free health camp on the occasion of world health day

It was conducted by RotaractClub of Sbmjc-Kgf in Association with private Doctors Association and Rotary Club Kgf on 14th July 2016. The camp was open for general public of Kgf, students, teaching and non-teaching members of Sbmjc- Kgf. The camp had privilege of the presence of 20 esteemed high Doctors and surgeons of Kolar district who conducted the health camp and also lecture sessions on various topics for the students of Sbmjc-Kgf. More than 200 general public were benefitted from this camp. On this occasion Mrs. Sandhya the co-ordinator of the Rotaract Club emphasized of celebrating the world health day.

  • Blood Donation Camp

An initiative taken by Rotaract Club, NSS and Indian Red Cross Society, in Association with the Doctors and nurses from the KGF Government hospital at Sri BhagwanMahaveer Jain College-KGF.

The program started with the Inauguration by the Managing Trustee Mr. MahendarMunothAnd Principal Dr. RekhaSethi.

The outcome was very good. About 50 units of blood was donated.

  • UTKARSH

The Installation program of the Rotaract club of SBMJC- KGF.

It was a star studded day with the dignitaries present.

The program started by the auspicious lighting of the lamp, inn vacation song followed by the Club report (video presentation). Then launch of logo by our principal and Mahendar Sir.

Followed by the pining of the president of Rotarat Club – Iylen Albert, Secretary- Likitha and the Co-ordinators Mrs. Sandhya, Mrs. Harshini and Mr. Raghavendra Rao.

And following the biggest highlight and the purpose of the program, handing over of Charter Certificate by Rtn. Muniyappa and Rtn. Sashi to the Principal Rekha Sethi and Mahendar Ji.

Then the pinning of badges to the Board of Directors and the members of the Rotaract Club.

Next launch of the T-shirts and kurtis of the Rotaract Club, which will be their unique uniform for coming up projects and the dignataries gave their message which concluded with the vote of thanks by Mrs. Sandhya and the national anthem.

  • Rotaractors attended District Leadership Training Program 2016 (DLTW)

DLTW is a training workshop for the office bearers of the rotaract club. Where the office bearers will come to know their role and responsibilities. It was held at PES University in Mysore Road on 29th of August 2016.

  • Rotaractors visit to PES University

The Rotaractors of SBMJC, KGF represented in District Meet youth Service (ICGF- Inter City General Forum) at PES University on 18th September 2016.

In the Meet Various people like Mr.Sharath (National Level Swimming Champion), Ms.Aadya (National level Spell B Champion), were honored for bringing Glory to the Nation.

Ms.Mount Mary Nisha and Ms. Pooja P of SBMJC, KGF were Nominated for Cultural and painting respectively.

The Rotaractors of SBMJC, KGF visited SVR Global School in Bangarpet  on 19th September 2016 and educated the students how illiteracy can be eradicated and explained what are the responsibilities of a youth in building Nation and that to in a nation like INDIA which is known as a developing Nation Still
