Wine preparation

The Department of Life Science ,3rd year BGBt students prepared wine as per the syllabus prescribed by the University. The students actively involved in the preparation of wine.

19 students prepared wine and  left for fermentation followed with aging.

FIELD VISIT – BRAIN MUSEUM

The Department of Life Science organized field visit to Human Brain Museum, Neurobiology Research Center at NIMHANS Bengaluru, on 26th June 2023. The presentation on Nervous system, human brain and their functions was presented by the technical officer, Ms Sophia M, (Alumni).  The students visited brain museum which has the collection of 400+ human brains which includes head injured brain, fetal brain   of different ages, brain infection, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease, Brains of birds,  fish, animals and other organs. The visit created awareness among the students with regard to normal, injured, diseased brain and brain donation to the Human Brain Bank at NIMHANS. 62 students and 05 Faculty members participated and gained knowledge.

National Webinar

The Department of Physical Science and Life Science, in association with IQAC, organized a National webinar on the topic “Strategies to Crack Competitive Level Examination After Graduation” on 22/06/2023. The resource person was Ms. Ruchitha Roy from IFAS Edutech, Pune. She spoke about various exams like IIT JAM, CUET, TIFR, PET, JUST and GATE, that a student can attempt for a masters programme at reputed Universities and Institutions. About 37 students registered and participated in the webinar and E- certificate were provided.

Guest Lecture

The Department of Life Science organized Guest Lecture on Career Guidance for the students of BGBt on 05th June 2023.

Topic:  Career after Graduation

Speaker: Mr Dhanush S (M.Sc Bioinformatics), Alumni, Reva University, Bengaluru

Number of students participated: 53.

Pick and Speak Competition

The Department of Life Science organized pick and speak competition for Science students on 22nd May 2023 from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm.

31 students participated in the competition.
